Tim Pappa
This talk is a practitioner's approach to behavioral content creation, introducing two conceptual models developed from theoretical frameworks and application of those frameworks as integrated conceptual models. This talk will include discussion and demonstration of examples of these two conceptual models, as well as lessons learned. These conceptual models have been applied to broad and target audiences online and offline, including behaviorally based original content created to influence those audiences.
Speaker Bio:
Tim Pappa is an Incident Response Engineer at Walmart Global Tech, driving efforts on Walmart Global Tech's cyber deception team at developing and applying cyber deception strategy, content creation, and marketing. More recently, Tim was an agent and a certified FBI profiler at the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) for nearly a half dozen years, where he pioneered behavioral content creation in support of state and local cold case investigations throughout the United States. Tim is also one of the few certified former profilers in the world specializing in cyber deception and online influence. Tim has had multiple roles in the FBI and the Intelligence Community, including at Defense Intelligence Agency and Central Intelligence Agency.

Tim recently published in the Journal of Information Warfare on applying Whaley's model of misperception and "unexpected players" to Muslim proselytizers in Indonesian Islamic boarding schools.
